The Chartres Labyrinth

The essence of the Chartres Labyrinth is in its path, not in its design. In walking the labyrinth the traveller meanders through each of the four quadrants several times before reaching the goal. At the center is a rosette design which has a rich symbolic value including that of enlightenment. The four arms of the cross are readily visible and provide significant Christian symbolism.

Lyrics

Book of Lies

I heard the cries, tried to visualize,
maybe I could sympathize,
I wanted to apologize,
this town's uncivilized
Where's the truth in this book of lies?
And as we watch our grand demise,
criticize and crucify,
let our consciences slowly die
One more truth from the Book of Lies
She poured the wine,
I could not decline,
hey I was mystified,
I would not survive these dangerous times,
or find the truth in this Book of Lies
The pages turn,
the chapters burn into my memory Words take hold,
life unfolds in a beautiful mystery
I heard the dried And as we watch our grand demise,
criticize and crucify,
let our consciences slowly die
One more truth,
one more truth,
one more truth from the Book of Lies

When We Got to Know

They say Jesus was an only son,
I don't know how he made it alone
He prayed His Father's will be done
The say His love saved everyone
He could've called the angels down,
stopped the world from spinning around,
found an easy way to get out,
but He never did and still they talk about it
He said, everything we need's already planted in a seed,
we've got to reap and sow and hurt and
grow and wait for all life's lessons to be told
When we got to know
They say it's hard to find a few good men
There was a time when
I could have been in only days were better spent and
all those lonesome nights that came and went
Won't somebody keep us safe when all the love
and hope hove gone astray
Everything we need's already planted in a seed,
we've got to reap and sow and hurt and grow and
wait for all life's lessons to be told
When we got to know

Out Into the Fog

My eyes are open wide
staring 'cross a great divide
and I don't know why
I just can't look away
I know everything,
but I don't know anything
and I'm running out of clever things to say
And the seasons keep on changing
and world keeps turning still
Sometimes there ain't no hop in staying
and when it's time to go you know I will
Out into the Fog
Deals are made
plans are laid
we look for signs along the way
some guidepost in the night
to see us through
I've lived a hundred lives,
heard a million alibis,
and it's hard to find a simple grain of truth
And the season keep on changing
and world keeps turning still
Sometimes there ain't no hope in staying
and when it's time to go you know I will
Out into the Fog

Love in the Room

Comes a time to choose what a man's willing to lose
They say you're damned if you don't and damned if you do
and that's the bitter pill of truth
Comes a time to change take stock
and rearrange the things that matter most
and those that just don't matter anyway if you believe what people say
and when it happens to you,
pray there's a lotta love in the room
A whole lotta love in the room,
a whole lotta love in the room,
pray when it happens to you,
there's a whole lotta love in the room
Comes a time to see the way
things were meant to be
and both of us can say, it's okay
if we disagree
and that's good enough for me
All I ever wanted was
to give you the best of myself
That's what I try to do
but I guess I could use a little help Lord,
I could use a lotta love in the room
A whole lotta love in the room
A whole little love in the room

Wine & Roses

I'm still walking,
I'm still breathing
Must be a few things I still believe in
All my daddy's Hopes
and all my momma's prayers
and finding forgiveness from the man upstairs
'cuz what I thought was right
turned out to be all wrong,
living my life like a sad country song,
and all my friends have up
and moved along
and the days of wine
and roses are gone
What scares me the most when I look deep inside
There ain't that many days
it feels good to be alive
and when it's time for leaving
and there's nothing left to do but give up
hoping on dreams that don't come true
Getting tired of running,
losing all control
People think it's funny,
but I don't get the joke
and this ragged ounce of lonesome is all I've got to show
And what I thought was right turned
out to be all wrong,
living my life like a sad country song,
and all my old friends have up
and moved along and the days of wine
and roses are gone

You Could Be

You could be calling up a friend,
writing them a letter,
taking some time just to make 'em feel better,
you could be
You could be falling in love,
falling apart,
turning on a light,
or hiding in the dark,
you could be
You could be reaching out
across the sky
spreading your wings
and your love far and wide,
and opening up your eyes,
so you can touch and taste and breathe
everything you could be
You could be looking at the world,
or looking in a mirror,
wondering who to blame with eyes full of tears,
you could be
You could be laughing at yourself,
feeling just fine
when all that's left is a little light shining,
you could be Anytime,
you could be anywhere,
you could be, anything you believe

- Wallace, RM

Shadow of the Blues

I may not be the brightest light you’ll ever find
might be a little rusty
could probably use a shine
people say hey ain’t you the one she left behind
I say yeah that’s right
and I bet you could sympathize
‘cause I can tell you’ve been there
like I know you somewhere...
and you could cheat on me
and treat me unfair
and I could watch you walk away
and everybody stop and stare
and we could lie
and hide the truth about our sordid affairs
and it’d be all the same
just like nothing’s changed
like I know you somewhere...
promises these days are hard to keep
you never know who to trust
but I still believe a broken heart’s
just a part of life
it don’t bother me you know as well as I do
how fickle love can be just like everything else
I swear like I know you somewhere...
you can laugh if you like
I don’t care you can call me crazy
but I know you somewhere...
like I know you somewhere

- Chuck McGill, RM

Song for Dorothy

I forgot what I was trying to say,
happens a lot these days
Like I'm standing still and the world's going by,
wish I was somewhere way up high
Maybe I ain't smart enough,
maybe I ain't got heart enough,
and some times I get so scared,
I'm always looking everywhere
trying to get back home
But nothing seems to be working,
I need to see the man behind the curtain
I wish I had somebody to tell all the good things
I'm keeping to myself
You tried to show me
I have nothing to fear,
but somehow I missed the lesson here
No matter where I turn,
I always seem to learn,
I need someone I can trust for certain
Maybe it's just me,
but I need to see the man behind the curtain
Maybe I ain't smart enough,
maybe I ain't got heart enough,
and some time I get so scared,
I'm always looking everywhere
trying to get back home
But nothing seems to be working,
I need to see the man behind the curtain

- Jonathan Singleton, RM

Afraid of Storms

Some times I get scared,
want to leave the lights on
Whine I hear thunder and wind's blowing strong
And the rain beats down,
it's beating down my door
when she rolls in I see lightning in her eyes
about to strike again
I could turn and run,
I could find a place to hide,
I could reach down deep inside
I could wail and moan,
I could on my knees,
or just see when this bad weather brings
Now I don't like to fight,
and I hate to raise my voice,
but some times she don't leave me any choice
And the rain beats down,
it's beating down my door
Won't ya help me, Lord,
'cuz I'm afraid of storms
I could turn and run,
could find a place to hide,
I could reach down deep inside
I could wail and moan,
I could fall on my knees,
or just see what this bad weather brings

- Jonathan Singleton, RM

World Without End

Money passes through a poor man's hands,
spends his last dollar on a gallon of gas
Working hard to make ends meet
It's tough these days out in the street
In a world without end
Every day, gotta pray
for a little more time to find my way
A little more thought,
a little more care
If I could just wake up,
I could be there
In a world without end
Got a family that I never see
Way back when thought I had to leave
Sure be nice if I could see 'em again,
it's been so long,
wonder how've they've been
In a world without end
One more day, one less thing I know
And there's just one place left to go
Every day, gotta pray
for a little more time to find my way
A little more though, a little more care
if I could just wake up I could be there
In a world without end
In a world without end
